Terms of Use

Terms and Conditions

Please be aware that by using Kindred Dogs website, and/or booking a service you are agreeing to the terms and conditions.

1:1 Packages

When booking packages we have agreed on a specific number of sessions in that package which cannot be changed or refunded unless at my discretion. Sessions however can be rearranged as long as more than 48 hours notice has been given. If a session is cancelled inside of 48 hours, without notification, it won't be transferable and you would forfeit that session from the package.
In case of inclement weather, sessions can be moved indoors to your home if appropriate to the training, if not then sessions will be rearranged to a time that suits both parties.

We should be aiming to complete packages within 6-8 weeks ideally. If sessions are continuously rearranged and the schedule of the package runs past 3 months you would be required to re-purchase the package.

Unlimited support via WhatsApp

During the time we are working together, you have unlimited access to support from me via WhatsApp, which allows for accountability of training for feedback, and any questions or struggles you may have. Please note there may be some things that I won't be able to cover over WhatsApp and this will be noted down for future sessions. There may be occasions that I am on leave and won't be able to reply straight away. Please also note that my admin time for replying to WhatsApp is primarily in the morning so this will usually be the time that you will receive my responses, messages after 11am won't always be answered until the next day.

Classes and Workshops - refund policy

You will find your refund policy, depending on the service, when you book. It will be on the service description and will come through on the booking confirmation email.

Training together

When working together we are part of a team, and you will get the most benefit from being an active participant in the training and asking questions and having discussions with me. No trainer can claim to know everything, and I will be open and honest If I don't know the answer I will do my best to find out. You understand and agree that training takes time and commitment, and that some things would be unethical to change and there will be management involved in the process somewhere. I would ask that you avoid comparing your situation to others on social media platforms (tik tok etc) due to the nature of those featured most often being "quick fixes" to get you hooked and not based on the reality with a dog. If you have seen things you want to try, please ask for my opinions and I will give open and honest feedback. If something is going to help, I don't mind that it didn't come from me and I will be happy to support you; but if it's going to hinder our work together I will advise against it.

Training methods and techniques

Dogs should always be treated as individuals, and no training is a one size fits all situation. There are things I do with my confident dog that I wouldn't do with my sensitive dog and vice versa. So training will be specific to your individual dog. I make it very clear that my focus is relationship centred training. I will not use methods which scare, intimidate or bully your dog into conforming just for the purposes of training - it's not necessary and we have evolved well past any remote ‘need’ to do this. I will use kind, fun, engaging techniques to create solid foundations of training with your dog but also help you set clear and fair boundaries where necessary.

Guarantees

There are none. No one can offer a guarantee on a living, breathing, sentient being. There are an enormous number of factors that can and do affect our dogs behaviour day to day, so we’re never able to guarantee timescales or outcomes - except to say that I will always have your and your dog’s best interests in mind, and will do everything I can to help get you closer to your goal while creating a strong & healthy relationship.

Your dog is your responsibility

Before, during and after working together - your dog is your responsibility. I am not liable for your dogs behaviour or any damages or injuries that may happen as a result of their behaviour. If at any point I feel that your dog’s behaviour is beyond my capabilities to work with, we will discuss this openly and I will refund any unused sessions and refer you to a behaviourist to work with.
Please note it is not unusual for me to advise many clients or prospective clients to discuss their dog’s behaviour with their vet - it is well noted that behaviour and health are closely linked.

Photos, videos and audio recording.

Unless you specifically request otherwise, photos or videos of your dog may be used for business or social media purposes to showcase my services. Of course, your dog’s wellbeing and privacy will always be respected.

As part of our work together, you’ll receive access to my private video hub and supporting handouts. These resources are for your personal use only, and I kindly ask that you don’t share them, as they’ve been thoughtfully created to support you and reflect many hours of work.

There may also be times when I audio record parts of our session—purely to help me take accurate notes and recall details about your dog’s needs. These recordings are kept private and used only for that purpose.

Aggression and bite history

If your dog has shown aggressive behaviour towards other dogs or people—and especially if they have a bite history—this must be disclosed before booking any 1:1 or group sessions.

In such cases, it’s likely I will recommend that you work with a qualified Clinical Animal Behaviourist, as this ensures the safest and most appropriate support for your dog.

Please do get in touch to discuss your dog’s needs before booking. I reserve the right to pause or stop a session, or to withdraw a dog from a class, if I observe behaviour that poses a risk of injury to others.

My priority is always the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved—dogs and humans alike.

Data protection

In accordance with GDPR, I require your consent to take and store any photos or videos of you and your dog, as well as to retain your personal information on file.

By booking a service and agreeing to the terms and conditions, you are giving permission for this. However, you are welcome to withdraw your consent at any time—just contact me if you’d like your information removed.

If you do not wish for any photos or videos of your dog to be taken, please let me know before our sessions or classes begin.

Your privacy and trust are very important to me, and I’ll always handle your information with care and respect.
